Exploring Practical Implementation of Economic Incentives for Antimicrobial Development in the U.S.

July 20, 2016 — 12:00AM–{12}:{00}{AM}

Duke-Margolis convened an expert workshop to address the challenges facing antibiotic research and development, with a focus on building consensus around incentives that reward antimicrobial development based on societal value rather than volume sold. The goal of this meeting was to explore the role of economic incentives in drug development and evaluate potential reimbursement models such as “de-linkage” that could support both stewardship and expanded development for antimicrobial drug products.
