Brystana G. Kaufman, MSPH, PhD

Research Fellow

My objective is to improve population health outcomes by evaluating policies and payment strategies intended to maximize value in healthcare. In the later stages of life, balancing cost and quality becomes more challenging as patient preferences/goals for care shift and costs escalate. My research aims to promote patient centered care for this growing segment of the population by evaluating the intended and unintended consequences of incentives and risk adjustment for patients with multiple chronic conditions. Prior to joining Duke-Margolis, I was a pre-doctoral fellow at the Duke Clinical Research Institute.
