The Duke Clinical Leadership Program (DCLP) is a leadership development program designed for select mid-career clinical faculty. Sponsored by the chancellor’s office, each year DCLP accepts up to 25 faculty who show high potential to assume larger leadership roles across Duke Health. The program is offered in spring and includes six full-day sessions focusing on issues such as health system finance, strategy, human resources, negotiation, reform, new models of care, etc. In addition to coursework, each participant is assigned to a team, headed by a senior clinician, to complete a project of significance to the health system.
Senior faculty and administrators from the health system, as well as faculty from across Duke including Duke-Margolis, serve as faculty in the program.
