Ellen de Graffenreid, MA, MBA, oversees all web, print, and digital communications and marketing at Duke-Margolis and supervises and supports Center events. She is the Center's primary media contact and spokesperson and serves on Duke University's Public Affairs and Government Relations senior leadership team.
She previously served as vice chancellor for marketing and communications at the University of Missouri and senior vice president for communications at Brandeis University, overseeing branding and marketing, media relations, university publications, digital communications, official social media channels, trademarks and licensing, and creative services.
She has spent the majority of her career in higher education and academic medicine, serving as director of communications and marketing at the University of North Carolina Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center and UNC Cancer Care, the University of Louisville Health Sciences Center, and as vice president of communications and donor relations at the Washington State University Foundation. She has garnered multiple awards from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education and the American Association of Medical Colleges’ Group on Institutional Advancement.
