This hybrid public meeting will convene governmental leaders, policy experts, and industry stakeholders to examine strategies to strengthen domestic supply chain reliability. Participants will explore solutions to chronic drug shortages, national health security risks associated with foreign dependence, and challenges related to quality assurance. The event will introduce the Duke-Margolis Framework to Address Chronic Drug Shortages, outlining integrated policy actions spanning coordination, supply chain measurement, payment reform, advanced manufacturing, and international collaboration. Additional sessions will focus on aligning domestic manufacturing initiatives around measurable objectives and assessing how recent and proposed Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services actions can support reliable supply chains for essential medicines. Together, these discussions aim to identify practical pathways to ensure patient safety and access to critical medicines through a more secure pharmaceutical supply system.
