Mark McClellan, MD, PhD, is the director of the Duke-Margolis Center for Health Policy, responsible for overall strategy and development of the Center.  Dr. McClellan also leads a significant research portfolio.

Dr. McClellan's leadership team includes Greg Daniel, PhD, MPH as Deputy Director, Policy and Gillian Sanders Schmidler, PhD as Deputy Director, Academics.  Dr. Daniel oversees daily operations, staff and resources in the Duke in DC offices. He is responsible for leading the Center's state, national, and global work to support policy analysis and implementation and oversees strategy for external engagement, supporting implementation of the Center’s work, and informing and engaging policymakers in both the public and private sectors. Dr. Daniel also oversees a portfolio of policy research in biomedical innovation and evidence development.

Dr. Sanders Schmidler guides development of the Center's academic research activities, oversees research proposal development, and helps the Center recruit, retain and develop high-potential research faculty.  She also oversees and supports the expanding education programs for the Center and works with affiliated faculty to ensure strong mentorship of junior faculty, graduate students and fellows, as well as work to increase research collaboration and communication.

Patricia Green is responsible for communications and the external affairs strategy for the Center and Amanda McBroom, PhD, directs daily operations.
