Occupational Therapy Doctorate; Theology & Healthcare Certificate from Duke Divinity

Audra Whithaus, Class of 2026, is an Occupational Therapy Doctorate student from Durham, NC, and a 2023 graduate of Duke University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, with a minor in Global Health, and a certificate in Science and the Public. During her undergraduate career, Audra contributed to two Bass Connections research teams focused on digital health communities and on barriers to care for neurosurgical patients in Uganda. She built on her team's work by conducting a pilot survey of rehabilitative resources following neurosurgery in Ugandan public hospitals, funded by a Bass Connections Student Research Award she earned. Outside of academics, Audra enjoys taking dance classes, singing with the Duke Chorale, and working at Duke basketball games as a graduate usher. In the future, she plans to advocate for accessible, equitable, and holistic healthcare throughout the lifespan as an occupational therapy practitioner. Audra looks forward to collaborating with other interns and learning from outstanding mentors through this program
