Blen Buticho

Blen Buticho, Class of 2026, is a graduate student in Duke University School of Medicine’s Master of Management in Clinical Informatics program. Originally from Ethiopia, Blen earned her bachelor’s degree from Augustana College where she majored in Public Health, Data Analytics, and Business Administration Management. Through her work at MD Anderson Cancer Center and the American International Health Alliance, she has contributed to projects involving melanoma brain metastases research, healthcare operations, and global HIV/AIDS initiatives. Blen is interested in the intersection of healthcare, data, and policy and in how health informatics and real-world evidence can improve patient outcomes and healthcare delivery. As a Margolis Intern, she looks forward to learning from health policy experts and collaborating with other scholars who are passionate about improving healthcare systems. In the future, Blen hopes to become a healthcare policy analyst focused on using clinical data and real-world evidence to shape policies that improve healthcare quality, operational efficiency, and equitable access to care.
