Class of 2029, is a rising sophomore from Dallas, Texas, majoring in Public Policy and Global Health at Duke University. Brian serves on the executive board of the Duke University Hippocratic Society and on the board of the Duke chapter of the Thomistic Institute. From his experience in constituent services and coursework at Duke, Brian has become interested in the role of innovative public policy interventions in alleviating inequities and rising issues in healthcare. Specifically, he seeks to explore potential sustainable public policy interventions to promote equity for patients, as well as in healthcare education and workforce development. This summer, Brian will work under the mentorship of Dr. Schmidler, utilizing stakeholder engagement and data-driven analysis to support the Durham Early College of Health Sciences Bass Connections project. In the future, Brian plans to pursue a JD/MD to drive impactful changes in health legislation and regulatory policy.
