Caitlin O'Reilly

Caitlin, Class of 2027, is from Arlington, VA, and is pursuing a double major in Public Policy and Global Health at Duke University. Her academic and professional interests focus on health policy, global health equity, and community-based public health research. Caitlin currently serves as an instructor and research assistant for the Going Places Study, where she develops curriculum and supports research aimed at increasing physical activity and community engagement among teenagers in Durham. She also works as a research assistant on a post-incarceration healthcare study examining ways to improve health outcomes for older re-entering individuals. Outside of her research, Caitlin is deeply committed to community engagement and service, serving as the Community Outreach Chair for Bull City Scholars, mentoring students through Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, and teaching a house course, The Durham Giving Project, focused on teaching Duke students about systemic inequities and nonprofit engagement in Durham. In the future, Caitlin hopes to pursue an MD/MPH and combine clinical practice with health policymaking to advance equitable healthcare systems.
