Jasmine Masand, (MPP '21)

Focus Areas

Jasmine is a Master of Public Policy candidate at the Duke Sanford School of Public Policy. At Duke, Jasmine has explored value-based payment and care delivery reform as part of graduate consulting teams for Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC and the NC Department of Health & Human Services. Her research interests include value-based models for special populations under Medicaid Managed Care and reforms to improve the quality of care for children in the child welfare system, and she is currently completing a master's project on federal reforms to better address adverse childhood experiences through the health care system. Jasmine also recently completed an internship with the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions where she supported work on a variety of public health issues in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Before pursuing her master's at Duke, Jasmine gained expertise in Medicare ACO policy and quality improvement as a consultant to government stakeholders and health care systems. She earned her B.A. in Government from Wesleyan University in 2015, where she researched Congressional politics and communications as a Government major.
