Marc Samuels, MD, JD
As CEO of ADVI, Marc Samuels leads all of the firm’s strategy, team and operations, across the firm’s three locations, its global network and advisor ecosystem. Marc's perch atop one of Washington, DC's busiest healthcare consulting firms across the policy, strategy and data analytics landscapes, provides Duke Margolis a unique perspective and learned insight into many of our ongoing workstreams in value and transformation, payment policy, and regulatory alignment of HHS, CMS, FDA and OMB. As one of our Fellows during the advent of the COVID 19 national emergency, Marc's work with Duke Margolis will specifically center around payment for new vaccines and biologics including reducing regulatory barriers and providing best access.
Prior to founding ADVI and its predecessor company HillCo HEALTH, Marc served both President George HW Bush and President George W Bush, in federal and state government respectively. Marc began his consulting career with his first partner, J. Michael Hudson, a former HCFA Deputy Administrator under President Bush and former OMB official under President Reagan. Marc speaks frequently on business strategy and policy matters, including an annual panel curated by ADVI at the Biopharma Congress . His comments and analyses have appeared in STAT News, The Pink Sheet, Fierce Healthcare, In Vivo, Journal of Oncology Practice, Medical Economics, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the Dallas Morning News, and Texas Medicine. He is policy counsel to NCCN and on the NCCN Foundation Board. Marc also participates as founding board member of the University of California San Francisco Roseman Institute's BUILD Program. Marc attended Yale School of Medicine’s MPH Program, the University of Texas School of Law, and the University of Michigan where he focused on neuroscience.
