2019 Symposium: Regional Approaches to the Development and Use of Real-World Data and Evidence
Duke-NUS Medical School
Health systems, providers, patients, payers, and regulators around the globe are actively exploring how best to use the increasing amounts of real-world data (RWD) and real-world evidence (RWE) that can be actively generated during routine care. This symposium, hosted by the Duke-NUS Centre of Regulatory Excellence and Duke University’s Robert J. Margolis, MD, Center for Health Policy, convened thought leaders to discuss their efforts to harness RWD and RWE for a range of purposes. A particular focus of the discussion was on the potential regulatory acceptability of these sources of evidence. An opening presentation from Duke-Margolis provided a high-level overview of the major challenges in this space, followed by sharing of perspectives from global experts and questions from the audience.
