Margolis Summer Interns
Anika Vemulapalli
Anika is a sophomore from San Antonio, Texas. Anika plans to major in Global Health and Biology with a minor in political science. Anika realizes how impactful historical institutions work in tandem with modern-day policy to deprive marginalized identities of a right to equal opportunity and outcome in our society. Over her four years, Anika seeks to understand how healthcare is impacted by social determinants and affects one’s societal well-being to eventually make tangible health policy changes empowering underprivileged groups. Moreover, Anika wishes to take a more individualized approach to my passion for healthcare by becoming a doctor caring for medically underserved communities. This summer, Anika focused on social drivers of health with Dr. Silberberg.
