Beena Bhuiyan Khan is a Research Director of Payment and Coverage Policy at the Duke-Margolis Institute for Health Policy. Her research focuses on increasing access to novel technologies such as pharmaceuticals, gene therapies, and medical devices under Medicare and Medicaid through coverage and payment policy reform. Beena manages the Institute’s Value for Medical Products Consortium, actively engaging with stakeholders addressing implementation considerations for implementing new payment models nationally with CMS as well as in the states. Prior to joining Duke-Margolis, Beena worked in the medical device industry focusing on health economics and market access. In this capacity, she collaborated with CMS and other health authorities in the United States and major international markets to establish the reimbursement frameworks for novel cardiovascular technologies.
