Haley Cionfolo is a senior from Knoxville, Tennessee and is studying Biology and Global Health at Duke University. After interning for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation last summer, Haley joined the Global Hearing Loss Bass Connections team under Osondu Ogbuoji and Gillian Sanders Schmidler and has grown to love health policy research. Haley is continuing with this team for the summer as they continue the project for the Lancet Commission Series on Global Hearing Loss. She will be working on the Barriers team and will be helping with systematic reviews for barriers, facilitators, and scale-up of hearing healthcare. In addition to participating in research at Duke, Haley is the incoming president for Hoof'n'Horn, an incoming Penny Pilgram George Women's Leadership Initiative Cohort member, and the Publicity Chair of the Global Health Majors Union. In the fall, Haley plans to apply to Masters in Public Health programs to pursue epidemiology.
