Hilary Campbell is an Adjunct Assistant Professor with Duke-Margolis as well as the Area Lead for Institutional Research and Analytics, where her input spans the Institute’s educational and research aims. Dr. Campbell works collaboratively with the Education and Operations teams to develop strategies for and manage the systematic collection, evaluation, and dissemination of metrics and data relevant to Duke-Margolis educational programs and other strategic priorities. She also teaches undergraduate and graduate-level classes, which have included PUBPOL 165 (Introduction to the U.S. Health Care System), HLTHPOL 480 (Capstone for the Health Policy Certificate), and POPHS 811 (Pragmatic Health Policy Analysis). On the research side, Dr. Campbell contributes to a range of timely projects, with a focus on health information technology and health data exchange. She also plays a key role in strategic efforts to expand the Institute’s quantitative research capabilities by growing and maintaining the Institute’s analytic and data resource capacity.

Dr. Campbell brings a unique interdisciplinary perspective to her health policy work: she received a PharmD with a concentration in Health Policy & Management from the University of California at San Francisco and a JD from the Duke University School of Law. Prior to this role, Dr. Campbell served as Director of the North Carolina Health Professions Data System at the UNC Cecil G. Sheps Center for Health Services Research.
