Laura is a senior at Duke University majoring in Biology and minoring in Bioinformatics and Creative Writing. At Duke, she studies mitochondria and their response to environmental toxins in the Meyer Lab and leads rock climbing and backpacking trips with Duke Outdoor Adventures on the side. At the Margolis Center, Laura is working with the Real World Evidence (RWE) collaborative to create a centralized resource of examples of when the FDA used RWE in regulatory decision to promote the usage of high quality evidence outside of a randomized controlled trial. Her ultimate goal is to improve patient’s lives through data, and she is deciding on the lens she wants to do it through: research, pharmacy, and/or health policy.
