Laura Smart Richman is an Associate Professor in Population Health Sciences. Her research focuses on understanding the factors that contribute to health disparities for disadvantaged groups. A few topics Dr. Richman has studied include the roles of social status, gentrification, and social network characteristics on health behaviors and outcomes.
Dr. Richman completed her BS at the University of Maryland, College Park. She subsequently went on to complete her MA as well as her PhD at the University of Virginia.
