Steven earned his BSPH in Nutrition at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health. Before starting medical school at Duke, he spent a year in Stockholm studying the impact of climate-conscious food policy on diet quality and health outcomes. At Duke, he has worked with the Veterans Affairs National Precision Oncology Program to analyze tumor sequencing data within the Veterans Health Administration. Steven is passionate about raising the standard of how diet and lifestyle are addressed within the healthcare system. His interests include expanding access to high quality care, minimizing the financial burden of medical expenses, and leveraging policy to incentivize healthy behaviors.
