Takhona Hlatshwako

Takhona Hlatshwako is an international student and Morehead-Cain scholar at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is pursuing a BSPH degree in health policy and management at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health. She is interested in health policy, health equity, global health, and infectious diseases. Takhona has worked as a research assistant for the I-SHARE consortium, supporting teams at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, Ghent University, and UNC Institute for Global Health and Infectious Diseases. The I-SHARE consortium is a global team investigating the impact of COVID-19 on sexual and reproductive health in 30+ countries. Upon graduation, Takhona hopes to pursue graduate studies in public health. Takhona has lived in four countries across three continents and hopes to add more to the list. This summer, Takhona will be researching low-value care through different projects.
