Francisco Banda

Francisco Banda is a senior from McAllen, Texas, is double majoring in Psychology and Philosophy with a minor in Creative Writing. He comes from a low-income, first generation, single parent household. Francisco has aspirations of attending graduate school to become a therapist or counselor and then practicing in his hometown to help combat mental health stigma and disparities within the Latinx population of South Texas. Some of my other interests include, creative writing, music, politics, and graphic design. This summer, Francisco will be working on building cross sector early childhood research to address the scarcity of child focused developmental and behavioral health services and the complexities in navigating service bureaucracies.
