Jacqueline Nikpour, (PhD '21)

Jacqueline is a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Future of Nursing Scholar and a PhD student at Duke University School of Nursing. Hailing from the Philadelphia area, Jacqueline earned her BSN from the University of Pennsylvania and spent the first portion of her career as an RN working with complex pediatric GI, endocrine, metabolism, and liver transplant patients at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. As a researcher, Jacqueline is interested in innovative models of care that utilize nursing to make care more affordable and accessible for all people. Currently, Jacqueline is examining ways to utilize advanced practice nurses to address the opioid crisis while still effectively managing chronic pain. Jacqueline's previous work includes examining the utilization of school nurses, using dance as an intervention to improve physical activity among West Philadelphia families, and addressing adolescent tobacco use.
