Kiara Ekeigwe
Kiara Ekeigwe, from Rockland County, New York, is a recent graduate of the Master of Science in Global Health program at the Duke Global Health Institute (DGHI). During her time at DGHI, she collaborated on a range of research projects, from policy analyses on universal health coverage to costing analyses of test and treatment programs across sub-Saharan Africa. She also completed a master’s thesis analyzing cross-sectional data to explore oral pain among adolescents in Tanzania. Within global health, her goal is to increase access to health products and services which she has worked towards through the domains of health policy, health economics and epidemiology. Before graduate school, Kiara earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Duke University and was a varsity Track and Field athlete. This summer, she will be collaborating with both Duke-Margolis and the Duke Global Health Innovation Center to support multi-product country introduction initiatives. Outside of her professional interests, she enjoys being outside, going to the movie theatres, spending time with friends and family, and reading.
