Nora Emmott is a Policy Research Associate at Duke-Margolis, where she supports the Institute’s Biomedical Innovation team with a focus on advancing the use of RWE in regulatory and healthcare decision-making. She leads a core workstream on operationalizing EHR data relevance, reliability, and quality for RWE policy stakeholders. Nora has collaborated and led projects on a range of topics including synthetic data, pharmacogenomics, causal inference methods, and patient-generated health data.
Prior to joining Duke-Margolis, Nora earned her Master of Public Health from the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health and served as a Research Assistant with the UNC School of Medicine, where she contributed to projects at the intersection of public health and clinical research. She also served as a summer fellow with the Massachusetts Health Policy Commission, where she explored policy approaches to address social determinants of health.
Before graduate school, Nora worked as a Research Assistant with the All of Us Research Program, supporting large-scale data collection and patient engagement efforts. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Health and Women’s Studies from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
