Prince 'Kobbie' Darko, MS '26

Prince is an international student from Ghana and an MS Global Health student at the Duke Global Health Institute. He graduated with a BSc in Medical Laboratory Technology from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana in 2016. Prince has eight (8) years of professional experience cutting across population health, infectious disease epidemiology, immunization, international development, and humanitarian aid. After his undergraduate studies, he served as a Teaching and Research Assistant at the University of Cape Coast. Later, he worked as a Public Health Laboratory Scientist with the Ghana Health Service. In this role, he coordinated disease prevention and surveillance activities and contributed to the national response to infectious diseases. His previous role at Zipline International Incorporated, a global health medical aerial logistics company, saw him contribute to public health emergency response; COVID-19 response; HIV/AIDS; malaria and tuberculosis control; and vaccination. Before joining Duke, he supported Medecins Sans Frontieres’s mission in Madhugiri, Nigeria, as an Epidemiological Activity Manager. As an aspiring infectious disease epidemiologist and a health policy analyst, Prince is curious about how appropriate population-specific epidemiologic methodologies can be developed and how robust epidemiologic data can be effectively disseminated and utilized for health policy and planning.
