Margolis Summer Interns
Ryan Pon
Ryan Pon is a member of the Duke Class of 2027 from Hong Kong, majoring in Evolutionary Anthropology with a minor in Global Health. He is particularly interested in healthcare systems management, medical supply chain security, and pharmaceutical regulatory policy. Through Bass Connections, he has contributed to research on eldercare infrastructure and caregiver workforce disparities in China. Previously, Ryan interned at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, where he helped draft a government grant proposal for a blockchain-based traceability system to regulate herbal medicine imports. At Duke, Ryan also serves as the Fellowship Coordinator for Something Borrowed Something Blue, a student a cappella group. This summer, he will be working with the Real-World Evidence team at Duke-Margolis to support the development of the International Harmonization of RWE Standards Dashboard. Ryan is eager to learn about how real-world data and global policy coordination can be leveraged to improve care delivery, health equity, and regulatory decision-making.
