Sierra is a Master of Public Policy candidate with a concentration in health policy. Concurrently, Sierra is an intern with AARP's Caregiving and Health Programs team. Before Duke, Sierra graduated from Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Arts in Health Humanities and Political Science. While at Syracuse, Sierra explored her health policy ambitions through internships with Senate Majority Leader Schumer and the Ways and Means Health Subcommittee, as well as research on supporting older adults, the direct care workforce, and family caregivers. Sierra is passionate about improving the affordability, accessibility, and quality of the long-term care continuum. As a Margolis Scholar, Sierra is excited to find thought partners within the Margolis faculty, staff, and fellow Scholars cohort to broaden her perspective on evidence-based solutions to long-term care's most complex challenges.
