Emily Proehl is a Policy Analyst on the Health Care Transformation team, where she supports North Carolina Medicaid’s value-based payment strategy projects, contributes to the NC State Transformation Collaborative (NC STC) initiative, and explores state and federal strategies to advance accountable care in the safety net. She holds a Master of Public Health in Health Policy from the UNC-Chapel Hill Gillings School of Global Public Health, with an elected specialization in maternal and reproductive policies. Prior to her time at Duke-Margolis, Emily gained valuable experience as a research assistant at the UNC Chapel Hill School of Medicine and the UNC Center for Health Equity Research. She also served as a Fellow for the Massachusetts Health Policy Commission (HPC), where she worked on projects related to social determinants of health, maternal and newborn care initiatives, and health equity research. Emily holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Bachelor of Public Health from the University of Florida.
